The new American duties on furniture are postponed by twelve months and redesign the scenario for design made in Europe. The rates of 50% on bathrooms and kitchens and 30% on upholstered wooden furniture, initially scheduled from January 1, 2026, will only take effect from January 1, 2027. A decision that, according to the analysts of Banca Akros, does not change the picture for the Italian group Dexelance, participated by Tip-Tamburi investment partners.
The reason is twofold. If on the one hand European producers will continue to apply the standard duty of 15%, the result of the agreement negotiated between the US and the EU in the summer of 2025, on the other hand the perimeter of the group limits exposure to the most affected categories. In fact, Dexelance does not operate in the bathroom segment, while the Kitchen & systems division accounts for about 20% of revenues and is among the best performing of the year, with a growth of 8% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2025. North America is worth about 20% of the group's turnover in total. Assuming a kitchen division exposure aligned with the overall one, the potential impact of rates would affect about 4% of total sales.
An effect that, as reiterated by management in recent calls with investors, could nominally slow down demand, but is mitigated by the high positioning of the product range, capable of offering a cushion on prices. Banca Akros analysts keep ratings and target prices suspended pending the execution of the capital increase. In the meantime, the postponement of duties offers a breath to the sector.
