The Luxury Brands in China Power Ranking  (”the Ranking”) enters its fifth year!

This is the very first, one and only data-driven“dashboard”tracking the activities of all global luxury brands in China market. The annual/semi-annual rankings have been generated based on the density and magnitude of the activities, vividly showing the brand’s level of commitment and investment locally.

Since its inaugural release in 2021, the Ranking and the associated report compiled by LUXE.CO and LUXECO Intelligence have been closely watched by executives in the global luxury industry, helping them adapt China market strategy and learn best practices from the competitors.

The 2025 Luxury Brands in China Power Ranking was announced a few days ago by LUXE.CO. The TOP10 brands are listed below:

The 2025 edition of the Luxury Brands in China Power Ranking covers 767 activities carried out by 107 luxury brands in China from 1st January to 31st December 2025. (Note: activities in peripheral businesses such as beauty, fragrances, eyewear, and hotels are not included.)

From the beginning of 21st century, when China's luxury market started to take shape, to the end of 2025, major international luxury brands have just gone through their first full business cycle in China: explosive growth > slowdown > stabilization > recovery.

As the most important growth engine for global luxury industry over the past twenty years, China market have drawn in almost all luxury brands like a huge magnet. After more than two decades of relentless expansion, the saturation of China’s luxury market is already at very high level, especially comparing to China’s still low per capita GDP. Meanwhile, Chinese high-end consumers have become far more discerning and sophisticated comparing to 20 years ago. Yet many international brands have not prepared themselves well for the drastic adjustment, feeling confused and powerless when the old ways do not work any more.

Notably, in 2025, China's homegrown luxury brands achieved historic leap, even opening up new horizons for the whole luxury business :

As the most prominent advocate of ‘traditional gold craftsmanship,’ Laopu Gold achieved a significant milestone by opening stores across all of China’s top 10 luxury shopping centers, with store productivity exceeding major international rivalries.

Also in 2025, Chow Tai Fook, China’s largest jewelry retailer, launched its first complete high jewelry collection Timeless Harmony and opened more new-concept premium stores within high-end commercial complexes.

Both brands are included in the Luxury Brands in China Power Ranking  for the first time.

As China’s luxury market undergoing paradigm shift, LUXE.CO believes that the established international brands must follow First Principles to re-examine their fundamentals, rebuild the bonds with local consumers in more effective and relevant ways.
